Is your case closed?
what does you attorney say, or did the judge say?
When My case was finally closed It was 2-3 moths for the settlement to come through.
If you are still on it you should call your attorney, your state agency, the court dealing with your case.could be months.

Are Democrats giving up too much in these debt negotiations?
-They caved more tax cuts for the rich
They caved on not cutting loopholes for the rich
They caved on cutting social security and medicare
They caved on no cuts for the military
they caved on tying the whole thing to a balanced budget amendment
Correct me if I'm wrong but Dems seen to have given up everything but Reps have given up nothing, and the Dems have two houses of govt and the Reps only have one.Yes, they are. However, I can't help but think other things will come along that will change that,.....for instance.....tax on the wealthy. lets hope so.To negotiate, you have to have a bill.
they have no bill to comprimise from, they hadn't passed a budget before the republicans too the house.
They do nothing but pander.
So if they want comprimise, they should propose something.
Carney said the other day in a press conference, Obama had NO PLAN.
So how do you comprimise with no plan.
This is not a game. People are acting like this is some sort of contest between Democrats and Republicans, but it's not. These are issues that will decide the future sustainability of this nation.
Pick up a book on world history. Every great society in history has met its end due to excessive spending. No nation can live outside its means forever!
No they are getting too much they are spending money like drunken sailors on leave. My apology to sailors.
But WE didn't give up the 2012 election... so we will get the House back, retain the Senate and the White House, and do whatever we want.

Have we been lied to again concerning the state of Social Security?
-Social Security has a 22 trillion dollar surplus. Why did Obama voluntarily put it on the table?
"Pitting young people against their grandparents would be distasteful in any case, but to do so based on information that, in fact, argues the opposite is despicable. Thank goodness for C-SPAN and its eagle-eyed journalist Susan Swain."
I know many of you will dislike the source but it is a transcript from C-Span
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/07/29鈥?/a>The problem with that is that the surplus is in the form of IOU's. SSI was robbed to pay for the Vietnam war, the Great Society, to balance Clinton's budget, for everything else in between by every president from Eisenhower on through the current. They paid the beneficiaries and then use what is left in the general fund replacing it with an accounting entry.Obama and the dems and CBS News saying that SS checks wouldnt be sent out...LOL!!! TOTAL Propaganda.
They have reached the point where they will say anything:
"And if Republicans dont do everything we want, these puppies will be incinerated (show picture of puppies), these children will die (show picture of sad looking children) and the entire world will collapse"
The left and the state media have lost ALL credibility.
"Social Security has a 22 trillion dollar surplus."
No, that money does not exist. The government puts it right into the general fund, and as you know, we're in extreme debt. This isn't new.
he put it on the table because he actually doesnt care whether its "reformed" or not, all he cares about is gaining acceptance from the right
Republicans and right-wing media outlets like Bloomberg and Fox have a vested interest in taking money from the weakest among us, our seniors.
Time for the liar and chief to go....

Now that Obama is helping McConnell save face by letting him win the new negotiations will McConnell help him?
-Obama will let McConnell win the new negotiations to raise the debt ceiling allowing him to save face im thinking he will help Obama some what with the economy now. He really has no choice. Republicans have taken a beating from the American people. The Polls show if there were to be a default republicans would bare the full blunt of blame.sometimes you have to throw a life line to get a deal dun. Of course republicans will get the blame, as they should.
The last time the repubs scored a big win against clinton they claimed they had a mandate of the people, they shut the government down and bill got reelected. get ready for the sequel.Mitch McCon-Artist has two items in his wardrobe that he cherishes - - - a white robe with purple embroidery and a Confederate Uniform - - - you will notice that Mitch Mc-Con-Artists flinches in disgust anytime he gets within ten feet of President Obama. NO - - - McCon-Artists will not help an "uppity N------," and NO The American public will not blame the Teapublicans for crashing and burning the American economy. Teapublicans have an effective propaganda machine - - - they have convinced the nation that President Obama personally stole over sixteen trillion dollars.
Also, Mitch has powerfully friends on Wall Street and un the Real Estate World, those friends will profit greatly from economic chaos & carnage, lots of properties to buy up, great deals to be had, they love the notion of America going broke because what for some is an economic mess is in fact economic opportunity.
Peace//////////\\\\\\\\\\\
He will help him out alright, by making him a 1-term president. That has been McConnell's plan the entire time. McConnell will do anything to make Barack look bad, I hope Barack doesn't fall for it.
Idiot libbies like you are PROOF of parallel universes where things only LOOK the same.
TRY NOT TO BELIEVE SO MUCH OF YOUR OWN BULLSHI+.
You're out of touch with the reality of THIS world.
No,McConnell will stab him in the back first chance he gets, that is what Republicans do to Democrats.
NO.
that sucks
Good thing we still have Ron Paul 2012!

Can you name a single Democrat president in American history who was worse than Barack Obama?
-A SINGLE president! Not even Carter, so NO!Obama's not "single." Yes. I can name a great many Democrat presidents who were the same if not worse than Obama. But none of them were single either.
Carter was ineffective. FDR, Johnson, and Wilson were all terrible.
The pedant in me senses you want to split hairs, but the open minded in me is going to offer Jimmy Carter.
Carter. FDR. In terms of damage to America.
Woodrow Wilson.
Nope.
Most were married.
(Jimmy Carter)
Carter still, though he was right in somethings.
None really come to mind.
Its a tie right now with jimmy Carter.
No because Obama has beat them all at being the worst
I still think Carter was the worst
Wait, why are you turning on him?

Is China right to be 'appalled'?
-I've also read on other sites that they are "embarrased for us" too. They're calling this new debt debate the "last straw' Uh-oh !
*"the debate over the debt ceiling and the budget deficit is the last straw鈥?for China,"*
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-28鈥?/a>They owe us $1.7 trillion. They own $1.16 trillion in Treasuries
They're not appalled at our debt. They think we're disfunctional because we allow political back and forth. It's the nature of our system.
鈥淪enior Chinese officials are appalled at how the United States allows politics to trump financial stability,"They should get over themselves because they want us to borrow more from them and we do not want to anymore. Without us china will fall and will not be able to function. We should our form of government that we have today continue to function. We have to have powers separated it has worked for us.
"Senior Chinese Officials" are used to making decisions and imposing them unilaterally on their people. Their 'appalled' stance is not the equivalent of 'appalled' as in "the tea party caucus was appalled".
REAL TEA PARTY WILL SINK TO IMPORT BOATS

Is it too late to replace Obama with a popular liberal Democrat like KY Gov. Steve Beshear or NY Gov. Cuomo?
-Please please please please please please please!!!
This guy is NOT a liberal Democrat.
He is Caveinator in CHIEFBernie Sanders would be an excellent challenger, too. His unfailing effort to speak truth to power is extraordinary. They may be running in 2016 but certainly not 2012.
Although Cuomo is a liberal social hero who championed marriage equality.......
the word on the street is, he's a fiscal conservative who gives tax cuts to the wealthy.
Do you really want him as president?
You really believe there's a difference? Most politicians are bought and paid for, even if they say that they will raise taxes on the rich the rich will still find ways to avoid paying, once again leaving average Americans to bear the burden.
Obama isn't any more a conservative than I am a woman.
Take Jerry Brown from California. His bald spot will blind everyone thus hindering their efforts in regulating our lives.
At least Governor Cuomo realizes that cutting spending and cutting taxes are good things. He surprisingly did but after elected.
yes it's too late, duh.
probably.
whats wrong with obama hes not doing anything wrong

Why do libs on this site always recite what had been said on MSNBC instead of thinking for themselves?
-Libbies are like birdie parents, they simply BARF back what they ate.Libbies are like birdie parents, they simply BARF back what they ate.I get my news from multiple sources, including blogs, books, and other online research for myself.
Most conservatives, since they're so loathe of things like reading for fun, seem to use the television as their main news source, and usually cancel out studies or evidence that's contrary to their beliefs by immediately claiming that it's "biased" or was "produced at a liberal-indoctrinating university" rather than studying it for themselves to come to that conclusion.
If they think everything that comes out of universities is not to be trusted, then they'll have to give up about 90% of their basic knowledge, from military technology to medicine. They'll also have to explain why most of their conservative legislators went to university.
I don't watch msnbc. it really wouldn't be possible for me to repeat it.
* you know why libs HAVE watched fox news? so we can be sure of what we say about it. unlike the right talking about msnbc as if they know a thing about it other than it's left-leaning. I personally like to know what I'm talking about to avoid looking like a fool.
Last year, the network鈥檚 (MSNBC) poster child for cronyism, Mika Mxyzlptlk, without a scintilla of shame, publicly admitted she gets talking points in the form of text messages from the White House.
http://www.newsrealblog.com/2011/05/08/m鈥?/a>
As a "lib", I have never watched MSNBC, so I don't know what you are talking about.
But I do notice that conservatives all seem to parrot the exact same talking points at the same time.
By the looks of the answers you're getting, it's the conservatives(like you, I guess) who can't even answer your question properly without a snide remark - 'manner-less' is endemic with them, I suppose.
Why do the Republicans and Tea Party Republicans always recite what they learn from Fox News instead of thinking for themselves?
Whoever said Libs could actually think?
We don't. Why do so many cons talk about how MSNBC has no viewers but then accused us all of watching them? I never watch MSNBC.
Diane and Curt do you think you sound intelligent with your sweeping generalizations?
@ Excuse me, Roseann's nuts got first place.
She didn't even notice the point of the question was to trap liberals in their own argument
Thinking for themselves is not part of the manifesto they follow.
They don't, why do you recite a question that has been asked thousands of times.
Because when you have a Marxist Socialist Network Broadcasting Communism you have the sheeple.
Without a meaningful example your 'question' is nothing more than a cyber political jerk-off.
3, 2, 1.....til one of them mentions FOX. lol

Why is Pedophilia a crime?
-I don't see Pedophilia any different from homosexuality. Both are mental diseases and people need help, it's not funny to make fun of Pedohphiles, we should help them if anythingI'm not condoning pedophilia but there is a difference between pedophiles and child molesters. Pedophiles have interest in relations with underage children (specifically prepubescent children). That doesn't necessarily make one a child molester. A child molester would be a person who acts out on these desires with a child who is underage, which would then be illegal. I agree that this is a mental disorder. I do not agree with your comparison to homosexuality also being a mental disorder.
Again, I'm not condoning any adult taking a sexual interest in prepubescent children, but just taking an interest is not the same as acting out on the desire and thus committing a crime. You are just mad!!!! Being gay doesn't mean you are harming someone that dont want to have sex with you...it means you are having non hetero sex, but both parties are grown and want to do it, Rape is bad, and the children DONT WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH THE RAPIST CHILDMOLESTOR UNDER NO CONDITIONS, AND IT IS A CRIME TO RAPE...that's the different and it's not a mental disease its a perversion in your sexuality, they have a differnent sexual idea from the norm, but sadly it involves hurting innocent children, adults and children shouldn't have sex, nor should adults ingauage in sex with a child in any way, never, that's what's wrong with it, if two adults wanted to dress like little kids then have sex it wouldn't be wrong, two consenting adult, but let me tell you, no child WANTS to be raped, and that's what the molestor is doing. the molestor doesnt know how the child feels cause he or she don't care and cant connect the thought that this isn't how most people feel and the sexuality isn't normal...
Pedophilia is not an act of CONSENTING ADULTS, my friend.
It is a crime against children.
I'm amazed I even have to explain this to you.
Homosexuality is between CONSENTING ADULTS.
Now do I have to teach you that beastiality is wrong too?
So a 40yr old man wants to marry a 17yr old boy,

Has flouride in water supply caused children to develop autism ?
-the nwo master plan is to depopulate and demotivate the masses.Behavioral abnormalities were detected in rats after administration of fluoride in levels comparable to levels humans are exposed to.Well, considering that they DON'T know what causes Autism I guess they can't define an actual cause of it.
Autism is a GENETIC deformation - not something you "catch" from an external source. And if that were in fact true, then the US would have the highest rate of Autism due to using the most fluoride in their water supply. Which is not the case.
I think there is more of an understanding of what Autism is so it is easier to spot and diagnose - which is why there is a higher number of diagnosis of it. And some of those "diagnoses" are actually false, and are more of an Autism Spectrum Disorder as opposed to actual Autism itself.
Autism doesn't kill and it doesn't "demotivate". It is a brain disorder. Many people that have Autism have very normal lives and go through life without even KNOWING they have it (Aspberger's Syndrome). I think maybe knowing what you are talking about helps you debate your view of an argument.
It's mercury that was in the immunization shots that were given in the 70s that has caused the major increase in autism in the last 20 years.
Depopulation is very real governments have been practicing this for decades the sad part is they new about it then.
Earths capacity is 8.5 billion people to reached in 2055 armageddon.
fluoride is a Poison its used in rat Poison on a tube of tooth past is the Poison Control number ever noticed that? human are not recommended to consume any more than a pea size portion, any more than that can cause serious health risk and even death...
No, fluoride has not been linked to autism. The consensus among researchers is that autism is largely genetic. And even if fluoride did cause autism, that doesn't kill people or demotivate them, so that's a pretty stupid way to carry out this "master plan".
If you compare rates of autism between nations that fluoridate their water with nations that don't, you'll find that the premise of your question is all in your imagination!
fluoride has been linked to thyroid disease, kidney failure, I.Q. reduction, and bone cancer... never heard of a link to autism.
possibly, and has the lack of *** whippings caused liberalism?
I don't believe there has ever been a connection found between the two

Military counter-signs?
-I need some 26th century counter-signs. All the ones I've thought of are cheesy. Thanks! It can be any two words.
But right now we're developing technologies were each solider is wearing a GPS unit that let's his leaders know where he is and emits a IFF signal. In four hundred years, I'd expect a guy's rifle to announce "Trooper Snuffy is approaching from 023, 25 meters out, closing at 1.3m/sec." Or to have a heads-up display in the helmet that integrates sensor information from a variety of sources so the solider has a visual map of who's where, how much ammo they have, and suspected targets.
Think about your setting. Four hundred years ago wars were fought by massed formations of musketmen and pikeman. Officers rode horses because the only way to give orders was to physically go over to the troops and yell to them. What's going to change in the next 400 years?"Dead" "Meat"
"Butt" "Dialed"
"Boom" "Head-shot"
"Crotch" "Rocket"
"Evil" "Shenanigans" (Super troopers reference. This one is my favorite)
"Butt" "Scratcher" (Family guy reference)

Why Did "The Greatest Generation`s" Booming Babies Decide To Take America Down?
-They danced in the parks in the `60s, took over the universities in the `70s, and turned America inside out from there. Did it just seem like the right thing to do ?Supply side economics drove the price of EVERYTHING to the point where the same standard of life achievable in the 70's was no longer possible without also assuming 6 figures of debt. A huge boon for the ownership class. These feudalism economic policies certainly created a handful of new billionaires but at the expense of generations of people being severely limited for rest of their lives.Uh-huh. And I'm sure the fifties were fine. Interracial marriage is illegal, homosexuality is equated with pedophilia, women are seen as inherently inferior to men, the red scare creates a still-lasting prejudice against atheists, etc.
probably, that is as far as the United States is concerned
Well gee.
Why do you include the Entire America.?
Brazil, Venezuela, etc are all part of America.
The Boomer lefties were raised on Mary Poppins.
Everthing from "Feed the Birds" to "A Spoonful of Sugar" has been burned into their brains as dogma.
Because they don't do consequences.
Why do you think that group of nothings is even a good generation?
They developed the Welfare Democrat Mentality.
They were bored.

Is the Tea Party Nation the only hope for those wanting to save America and our children's future?
-Yes! If it was not for the tea party standing strong the debt would not be dealt with and the U.S.A. would be joining Greece in 4 years. The tea party fights for the wisdom of our founders.
The surplus was gotten when republican controlled the house.Yes! If it was not for the tea party standing strong the debt would not be dealt with and the U.S.A. would be joining Greece in 4 years. The tea party fights for the wisdom of our founders.
The surplus was gotten when republican controlled the house.I think trusting a political party or a political faction to save America is ridiculous. The Constitution was created to protect American citizens now and in the future. If it's not working out for us, we need a new Constitution, either that, or a completely new government. Democrats and Republicans are too much alike, and probably always will be.
An ultra-right wing party or faction as a panacea for guiding America towards a better end is not a good solution; look at what happened to Germany. Americans need to decide what kind of government they want, then vote for it. Right now they're not even voting. (The American national vote turnout drifts between 35% and 55%.) As long as Americans don't care about politics, not much will change. People are cynical because of how much we are controlled by corporations, media, Wall Street and special interests, including foreign governments.
They are the most noted but there are other groups that want gov to be fiscally responsible and not charge our kids for the tab also.
Seems the answers you are receiving are from those ,,,like the democrats, have no idea about a budget or resonsibility.
Added: Dass there was no Clinton surplus....check the treasury website .
Where were you *"teabaggers"* (tea party named themselves that name originally) when Bush was creating holy hell on you and your *"children"* ???????!
Didn't care about your *kids* then eh lol? That's what it looks like pffft.
Yes. But unfortunately the sheeple of today's America have been brainwashed to oppose anyone trying to help them. The tea party has no ties with big business or Lobbyist. It has no leader, which is good in order to prevent corruption.
No, my distrust of the government to solve things is VASTLY outweighed by my distrust of corporations to do so.
@RJC: Yes, that must be why the only administration since Vietnam to run a surplus was BILL CLINTON'S DEMOCRATS!
All grassroots(going back to our founding principles) movements-including the Tea Party Nation-are essential if we want to save America and our children's future. The ones who say they are destroying it, are perfectly fine living in a Soviet-style nation.
It's beginning to appear that way.
if by save you mean destroy, then yes
Oh gosh- I sure hope not.
How about compromise and inclusion instead?
Sure, if your hopes for your children are that they live in a third world country.
Yeah, pretty much.

2nd LT in Army Guard with no work Help please?
-My husband is in the National Guard. He hasn't worked since 2009, (after is Afganistan deployment) and I cannot keep supporting him. He went to OCS in hope of transfering to active duty as a LT, this is not working. His unit isnt helping, and he has spoken with a General who said he can go active, but when talking to his Major, he says he has to wait untill he is a captain. We can't wait the 3+ years for that. He has no luck on the civilian side, nor has he had a job in years(unless you count pizza delivery) And because of chain of command, he cannot contact the general anymore. We are honestly about to be homeless, and we have a little boy. I am working as much as I can to make money but it is not possible to make enough, due to my husbands loans to get through college. PLEASE someone help that knows what he can do.Try to find a Guard AGR (active guard reserve) position for him. In my opinion, its an even better job than active duty. He can talk to his chain of command to try to find a position in his unit.
If there isn't then talk to the retention officer or contact other units and other posts around the state looking for an AGR position. Depending on his MOS, he might be able to find a position easily.
If that doesn't work. I might actually look to transfer to another state or possibly to the reserves, where it'll probably be easier to find an AGR position.
And if you can't find any full time position I would try to get him to get sent to some sort of school. There are a lot of different schools that he can get sent to. And he'll get active duty pay along with BAH, etc. while he's there. But that's only a temporary fix.
You could also talk to the LTC (assuming that he is his commander, not his major) if his MAJ isn't doing anything to help.
But I don't know what you could really do in terms of the civilian side. Try to find something that goes along with his degree I guess.
And make sure he's studying for the promotion board or he's got another problem.
Hope this helps. Good luckHe is an officer, so he has a college degree
So why can he not find a job, like everyone else ?
Heck, McDonalds, Toca Bell are always hiring manager trainees
So are most rental car agencies
Mail the majors boss, if you really want write a letter to the secretary of the army. Might help.
Unfortunately it's called the service for a reason. His unit might not want to let him got for a variety of reasons. It's up to his current chain of command as to weather he's released to go active duty regardless of what any General says.
You're really in the same boat as a lot of Americans, which is a sad state. Has your husband gone to any temp agencies? Union halls? has he contacted any hiring agencies or recruiters? Did he not receive any sort of federal student loan repayment when he was commissioned?

What are Private military company?
-And what are their jobs? They are "mercenaries" essentially. They are generally former soldiers/Marines/Spec ops who go to work for private military/security contractors. It is more efficient for the government to hire them on short contracts because it saves the government $$ in the long run (not having to pay for training, medical, dental, veteran benefits...etc over time).
Their jobs can vary from providing security for dignitaries/visiting government officials, to securing supply routes, convoys and facilities. Many of these companies ONLY hire former military with previous Special Operations experience.
I should add that any "crime" committed by a security contractor is equally illegal as that of a military member. The ONLY difference is that the company is held accountable for any indiscretion, rather than the US government (depending on the situation).A private company such as the one run by chiefandaccounts@yahoo.com is one which hires former service men. The company sends them to school, then they are placed out to different Governments and private company's as guards or Mercenaries. The pay for example on a super tanker is from $85,000
to $125,000 a year.
Pay scales for the other jobs are confidential.
Well for example we have companies that provide aggressor Training for Navy Fighter pilots at the TOP GUN school. They fly jets cheaper than the Navy can & the Navy does not need to tear up it's own planes. Others provide security for ships from pirates. Thus we don't send thousands of need soldier on baby sitting duties. Basically they do jobs Government does not have the manpower for.
A PMC is ANY company that contracts to provide services for the military in a deployed location
That can be doing laundry, cooking, truck drivers, ware house workers, construction, clerks or security contractors
Privately owned defense companies hired by the Department of State to protect politicians. ... And do a few other things that would be illegal for REAL servicemembers to be told to do.
The politically correct term for hired guns, mercenaries. They will publicly deny that they are but,,,they are.
The answer is in the name.

Could it be possible for Leslie Van Houten to get deported as a free citizen before she gets parole in the US?

Would u have to travel overseas if you joined the Military Police?
-I would like to join the military police but I don't really want to travel overseas, could I join the MP's and not travel overseas?Military duty is much easier and fun overseas, go for it. MPs do duty EVERYWHERE there is US military.Pfft. If you don't want to go overseas, STAY AWAY FROM THE MILITARY. You're one of those "I don't really want to do what's best for my country, I just want someone to pay for my college" people, aren't you. I'm an MP and very soon from now I'm deploying to Afghanistan for 15 months. Military Police is one of the most versatile MOSs in the military.
Any particular reason you posted this three times?
As a member of the military, you deploy when told. Yes, you will probably go overseas. It's the best part of the military! Before I was 25 I had lived in Korea and Germany.
For Christs sake, you've asked this 3 times in a row! YES MPs DEPLOY ALOT!! THEY DO PATROLS, CONVOY SECURITY, AND A TON OF OTHER DANGEROUS OPERATIONS! WHY DO YOU THINK SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO CALL IT GLORIFIED INFANTRY?!

Would you support a Federal law to tie our "leader's" FICO scores to the deficit?
-I propose a law that would tie the personal credit FICO, insurance FICO, and medical FICO scores of each congressional representative and senator plus the president and vice-president to the national deficit?
If *we* average working taxpayers ran our own finances continuously in the red as the Federal finances have been for decades, our FICO scores would be in the low 300s.
Why can we not have our "representative's" 3 FICO scores tied directly to the national deficit.
That would, I'll bet, get our nation's budget balanced and keep it that way.
For those who are not aware, the Fico credit score range is 300 - 850. The average American credit score ranges from 660 - 685 for credit cards. A bad credit score range is 300 - 620.Sounds good to me.

Has the "Tea Party" actually shown up as a ballot option in any state?
-I have not yet seen the Tea Party as a ballot option in my state. Has anybody seen them on the ballot? From my vantage point, they seem more like the far right wing of the Republican party than a party in and of themselves and yet, they still refer to themselves as a party. So, anybody seen them on a ballot or hear that they will be on the next ballotMark, you are correct. The TEA Party is actually a fiscally conservative wing of The Republican Party. In case you didn't know, or may have forgotten, TEA actually stands for Taxed Enough Already. No, we're in the process of taking over the GOP.
Does that mean that the so called "Black caucus" should be a separate ballot option?
NO
TEA TARDS LIE
THEY ARE REPUBLICANS

Should high school be abolished?
-Should kids head for college when they're 15 or 16? Some experts think so, and some kids agree. They argue that the last two years of high school just keep students in a holding pattern.
The idea isn't as crazy as it might sound. For many young people, high school is little more than a holding pen. Teenagers mature physically earlier than they did a century ago, while cars and the Internet have given them far more independence than their predecessors.
Yet most high schools continue to treat their students like children. Segregated from the rest of society, students turn obsessively toward each other, forming cliques and agonizing over who is most popular or beautiful or cool. High school wasn't always considered a mandatory rite of passage. As recently as 1940, less than 50% of the adult population had gone beyond the eighth grade.
Those who are ready should go to college. Teenagers who don't care for university life, or want to delay it, could take apprenticeships, engage in public service, or attend vocational schools.Yes.High school is necessary, and it's definitely not mandatory for everyone to go, there are alternatives, such as home schooling and online schooling. Think about what you knew leaving grade 8 for a second, do you honestly think you can get into university/college and succeed with such a mediocre understanding of mathematics, sciences, and humanities? Kids need High school to realize where they want to go in life. It gives an accurate representation of what they should expect if they choose to pursue a career in their chosen field.
I think high school shouldn't be mandatory. If you are looking to head to college, then sure, stay in school. But, I think once kids are 16, they should have a choice. Back when I was in high school, I could have used those few years of real-world experience, rather than learning calculus.
Only for kids whose parent(s) can't pay cash in advance.
We're sick of paying to educate minorities and trailer trash. They don't need high school to flip burgers or stock shelves.
I support your right to be illiterate, uneducated and unemployable.
Enjoy the life that this will give you.
Yes. HS is a waste of time. The kids that WANT to learn will already be intelligent enough for college by 13.
I took the Calculus,Chemistry, Physics and AP History and AP English. It wasn't a waste for me.
YES, it's liberal brainwash anyway
You don't sound as if you are ready for high school yet?
Sounds like you went to the wrong high school.
It is pretty much a FWOT. Or a TFWOT.
No, Middle School on the other hand...
its good and bad i would miss high school sports leaving 2 years early
Not abolished no. But it needs to be rehashed in a big way. In my experience, yes. Junior and senior year are essentially silly. Especially senior year. BUT It doesn't need to be that way. It SHOULD NOT be that way.
In my case, I was lucky. There was an act passed in Minnesota, where I grew up, that said if you have proved that you can hack it (B average or better through 10th grade), You can go to any State university, and they would pick up the tab. I graduated high school at a full blown Sophomore plus a semester in college.
That worked for me. Like I said. I was lucky. I lived close enough to a university to make tat work, and there was program in place. What would have been far better, is if my high school had actually taught challenging "college level" courses which, as you say, a lot of us could have handled just fine.
This is part of the reason the US is lagging behind in brain power. We don;t challenge our students, and we have an irrational fear of labeling people. We SHOULD figure out who the brains are, and focus on developing them further, earlier. We are very focused on making sure that slower learning kids can keep up. Emotionally that feels right. Indeed it is right to focus on those kids. But practically, it means that the smart kids are bored to tears, unchallenged, and essentially left to their own devices.
We should be graduating high school seniors with the basic skills needed to function in modern society. We are not. You can't make it on a public high school education alone, and you are not guaranteed the funds to continue.. That's sad, and it is self destructive.
Alright, but your argument is lacking in a few points:
1. There are no apprenticeships anymore. You're advocating an employment model that disappeared 90 years ago.
2. Public service doesn't pay anything. They'd still be unemployed and living in their parents homes. Furthermore, opportunities for public service -the "corps" groups- are rapidly being defunded by Tea Party Republicans who hate the idea of anyone doing public service.
3. Many vocational schools cost just as much as a state university. Furthermore, the complex machine tools used in many of today's vocational settings require a level of reading, math and analytical skill that exceeds what someone with a 6th grade education would be able to handle. My business requires that people be able to read and match specs on computer components and even though it sounds easy you'd be shocked how difficult that is for your average worker.

-Given our current state of affairs, it seems that more and more Americans believe that America's brightest moments are behind us. With that being said, what time period in our nations history would you have wanted to live in? I would have loved to to have lived during the time when our Founding Fathers created this great nation.Either the 1780s or the 1880s.The future could be a lot better than the present or the past, we just have to start looking at what it is that is causing our current problems and start finding solutions, instead of voting and expecting politicians to do it for us. Politicians don't solve problems, they make laws, collect taxes and declare wars; and that's all they do. If we want problems fixed, we need technicians. Most all elected government positions are being held by someone with a law degree...Lawyers are not going to fix problems, just argue about them. We need a leadership made up of our best and brightest scientists and scholars, not lawyers and car salesmen. We have to start deciding now, whether we want our future to look more like "Star Trek" or "The Road Warrior"...
"The Gothic idea that we are to look backwards instead of forwards for the improvement of the human mind, and to recur to the annals of our ancestors for what is most perfect in government, in religion and in learning, is worthy of those bigots in religion & government, by whom it has been recommended, & whose purposes it would answer."
--Thomas Jefferson; letter to Dr. Joseph Priestly (Jan, 27, 1800)
Ohhh,,,I would say between 1890 and 1920,,,it was the time when electricity, indoor plumbing was available in most cities, the really cool inventions ( autos, airplanes, etc) were just coming to be, most things were still legal and if you really wanted to,,a man could still jump on a horse and ride off into the sunset.
I would look towards the future, not the past.
but maybe the 1990's would be a period of peace and prosperity, to some extent.
1975 through 1980 was kind of nice because we didn't have a military draft of any kind, no selective service, no nothing.
2011 was a memorable year for New York:

-gay marriage legalized
Dude, cheer up. Stressing isn't worth it. Life is too short.
Life is good. I have no complaints.
In the days you choose, unless you have a shitload of money, you'd be worse off than you are now.
most people look at from a money/tax/government standpoint.
I don't let that affect my life, and without even thinking of it, I would like somewhere around the early 1900s.
I would go back to colonial times, to educate the natives on the military tactics of the europeans
In the mid 1950s when the Democrats and Eisenhower made the US better. US had the best education in the world. When the Great Society took place.
Good question. I think perhaps the War of Northern Aggression, to witness first hand the effect of a president deliberately dividing our nation.
I'd prefer to be a young adult working during the mid-late 1980s
There was just as much disagreement and disparity then. I like the times we are in.

5'4" tall, infantry???
-I'm 5'4" tall, I'm considering joining the army or marines. Would my height cause problems if I decide to go into the infantry? If not, should I join the army or the marines?Your height is borderline short, army.(and it should not be a problem in infantry or any branch at that)
Since we as Americans have the right own a gun should the government send one to every household that can't?
-Afford one? At tax payers expense?
How is this different than universal health care?
It's the governments job to defend our rights, not provide our rightsTo answer your additional comment question, the Swiss keep the guns they use when doing their mandatory military service.
And yes, they should have to buy me a gun,in order to help me exercise my rights.I'll take an M4 thank you.
AugustIt works in Switzerland because bottomline they aren't as drugged out, or as stressed out as the US. Do that here, and the crime rate with skyrocket.
the government seems alot more interested in taking our rights at this current period of time.
isn't that the policy in Switzerland? Seems to work there.
No, the Feds are too busy sending guns to Mexico.
Your right to die and without health care.
Okay.

How much more money did the Marxist Fraud get in the debt compromise?
-No matter. He is sure to squander it anyway.Supposedly, two trillion more can be borrowed to give to lib moocher groups so they can get to the polls and vote for more miserably failing dem politicians. They own the debt, did you think its China? lol http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/鈥?/a>
There weren't any Marxists in the negotiations.
The debt ceiling was raised to necessary levels. Fun fact: It's for PAST spending, not future spending.
I imagine in your world Obama swims in a vault of your money like Scrooge McDuck, spending it on White House dinners and direct payments to drug dealing minorities.
Your statement shows the fact that you know nothing of Marx or Obama.

Are The Republican Tea Party-ers Inspired By the Economic Chaos That Gripped Germany during the 1920s?
-Many historians credit the economic crisis of the early 1920s and again in 1930-31 for the rise of Nazism and Adolf Hitler. A desperate nation approved of doing away with opposition parties and transformed Germany into a one party nation. The rise of the Nazis and Hitler allowed the state to do away with Trade Unions and 'subversive elements' such as the Social Democrats and Communists. Under One Party Rule Germany dealt effectively with long standing issues with neighboring nations. Does this drive the Teapublicans to push America into economic chaos? Do they see this as a way to get Americans to turn to a strong party and a strong ,man or (in this more modern age) a strong woman? For more than a decade the Republicans have called for an end to two party rules, is this the way to get to that goal? Teapublicans have vowed to crush Unionism and to do away with minimum wage laws and regulations for worker safety, is this the way to achieving those goals?A Big Yep to that question. It makes them feel all slippery down there.Oh. My. God.
I don't even know what to say. The problems in the Weimar Republic were caused by everything the Tea Partiers claim to oppose.
Please read up on German/economic/political histories before you do anything else.
Well... if you mean the Weimar Republic, you got the wrong target...

I highly dougbt the TEA party would desire to take on the policies of the National Socialist Party (NAZI). That's a complete opposite of their beliefs, they really don't agree with Liberals/Democrats and their policies at all.
they are inspired by the ineffectiveness of both parties. both liberal and conservative.
they are only inspired by their own ignorance and misconceptions.
i believe they are.
You do not have to go that far back look at Mexico? It was a wonderful place to live with safe working conditions, universal health care and the elderly got a small check the wages were low but so was expenses. It had a thriving tourist trade and everyone had a good job and housing.
The rich took over the government and stopped any safe guards or wage level so the people were working for slave wages. Actually slaves get room and board and this wouldn't even provide that.
Took away health care for anyone who couldn't afford it, and basically threw the old people out in the street. You see 80 year old women on the beach selling gum basically begging for money.
They work until they die or starve to death with no programs for helping the poor.
So they turned to selling drugs and prostitution and only people with money got the courts to defend them. People without money to bribe the cops were basically killed.
turned a beautiful country into a hell hole of death and disease and starvation.
The richest man in the world is not an Arab, or a computer wize kid, but a mexican who buys goods from the US has his minons make stuff in his factory's for 3. day and sends them to the USA to sell.
the only ones in Mexico who could be called the middle class is the security guards who guard the rich. Is that really what you want in the USA?
Oh, by the way they also took all homes and land they all rent because all land belongs to the government.
1. There is no such thing as the republican tea partiers. The tea party supports much that is republican because it makes sense to do so. However the tea party is independent and has members from every political party.
2. Exactly the opposite but I'd bet you knew that and were simply making up lies to fuel hatred. The tea party is for the people and trying to protect all of them, even the mindless haters like you, from the destructive path of endless spending and taxing.
3. The obvious lies people like you tell is very enlightening as to what you really fear.

Obama: I 'don't begrudge people success or wealth'
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/鈥?/a>
It sure is, some people flock from all over the country to see his rallies and speeches, and they sometimes pay admission and/or make generous donations... I'd say that and fundraising gets him all the dough.
That may be... you can't help stupid. And he'll need every dime of it because in the midst of this economic meltdown that he's caused his whole campaign has to be:
"Who are you going to believe, me or your own lying eyes?"
The same place all politicians get them.
Maybe one should argue for campaign finance reform instead of childishly, and vindictively singling out one politician who does nothing different from any other... or maybe not...
The best thing about Obama racking up all those donations is that while he is "fund raising" he isn't harming America.

How can I get a marriage certificate in Colorado Springs, Colorado without going there?
-I cannot even find a good email address.Colorado Springs is in El Paso county Colorado . They have a web site and a contact number . You want the records office .
Does a tattoo that says "Waffen" indicate a skinhead, white supremacist, etc.?
-While out an about yesterday I saw a guy with his young daughter, he had tattoos all over the place but one that stuck out said "Waffen". I believe the word waffen itself means simply "armed" or similar in German, but it's most associated with the Waffen SS.
Do you law enforcement types see this or have any opinion? It doesn't always indicate a skinhead, although it would be a pretty safe bet. Even if the person that got it wasn't a skinhead or didn't mean for it to be understood as the SS, it's a pretty poor choice of tattoo if that isn't what you think.
It's like getting a Swastika tattoo and then saying "I'm not a Nazi. It's a good luck symbol." Well yes, that's true, but the meanings of symbols change and it's not really appropriate or "good luck" anymore. The origins of the Waffen-SS can be traced back to the selection of a group of 120 SS men in March 1933 by Josef "Sepp" Dietrich to form the Sonderkommando Berlin.[7] By November 1933 the formation was 800 men strong, and at a remembrance ceremony in Munich for the tenth anniversary of the failed Munich Putsch the regiment swore allegiance to Hitler. The oath given: Pledging loyalty to him alone and Obedience unto death.[7] The formation was given the title Leibstandarte (Bodyguard Regiment) Adolf Hitler (LAH).[8] On 13 April 1934, by order of Himmler, the regiment became known as the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH).[8]
Lmao! Some people might aswell tattoo a schwartz sticker to there head ! Problem with tattoos is that even though people can change their opinions over time tattoos remain the same. I know a few guys with these types of tats from a misguided youth and they wear plasters over some areas due to shear embarrassment.
The saying 'try not to judge a book by it's cover' has never been so true or literal !
Not always. Maybe he has german roots he is proud of. I would assume though, since the Waffen SS was a Hitler creation, never legitimate military branch, and more of a secret police, yeah he probably has some skin head thing going on. Like someone else said, maybe it was a mistake from the past, he grew older and wiser, but he still has the marks of stupidity from youth.
I can trump that tattoo, I have the symbol of death on my arm
(i'm also a veteran of the 4th infantry and proud of it)

Is Political Journalist Jake Tapper Hoping For A FOX Gig Or Is He A POP MEDIA Red Herring?
-What do you think ?Been following Jake in his career for a few years now. He's as close to a straight shooter as you are going to get on liberal ABC. He WAS doing Sunday Mornings on ABC for a short while, but he let slip his slight right wing leanings and was pushed off the program. I suspect he would LIKE to be a serious political journalist but when faced with the likes of former left wing, Clinton golden boy George Stephanopoulis, he is forced to keep his head and butt down and NOT rock the boat. Too bad. He's a pretty good reporter.
What's the difference between Navy Active Enlisted and Reserve Enlisted?
-What are the overall differences of them two?Active duty gives u and dependents free school, medical, dental and travel. Reserves u have to pay out of pocket for medical, dental, and only get help with school. (Not free) reserves gives a little over 100 dollars a month as drill pay. Active duty gives u pay depending on ur rank and if u r married a housing check or if u are sent out of the country u get cola( which is overseas extra pay). Once u are active duty, its 24-7 job. Reserves is once a month and 2 weeks every yearActive is on posts, either bases or ships, and they get paid and receive better benefits.
Reserve just show up to training and drills once in a while, get paid less, and receive less benefits, but are free to enjoy their lives more.

Where is the best state to live in the usa?
-Hey, I know this is crazy but I'm 15 years old and live in England. I have an obsession with America. I would do ANYTHING To live there. I've got huge American flags in my bedroom and I'm not afraid to tell anyone about my obsession (although my Parents do get VERY Annoyed with me talking about America all the time) And I've started thinking in advance, I want to know what state to visit when I'm 18 whilst considering where to buy a house and have a job and family. I know about the whole Visa thing and everything which I will be applying for when I turn 20 (And have more than enough money)
I'm looking for a state That hopefully is nice and spread out with things like ranches and Cornfields Like in the country not too near big city's But as I've always lived by the sea preferably somewhere that's no more than a 2 hour drive each way to a beach (BUT I don't mind if it's not near the sea)
But i want somewhere generally warmer than England in the summer but snows in the winter (It doesn't snow much in England).
I have family in Florida but i don't care if i don't live near them. Because I'll drive as long as it takes to see them.
Sorry I'm so picky, But i'd prefer to live somewhere on the east coast because it's a shorter flight to and from england. but still wouldn't mind if it wasn't.
ALSO, Do Americans like English people, or do they hate us?
Anyway, i'd be grateful if you answered like a town or city because i always search for holidays and houses for sale in that area. (I KNOW IT'S IN ADVANCE) But I'm saving up all my paper route money for this because it's my life dream. And houses are really cheap in America compared to England.I live in North Carolina and i think lower North or south Carolina are your best bets. and idk why you want to move here! I'm moving to Scotland as soon as i can! I'm 15 and i have family in France and England. what part of England are you in?? not to be creepyyou glossed over the most important bit ... The Visa
not many visas available to you at 20
North or South Carolina.
There are mainly three ways you would be eligible for a visa.
First, you can have your family in Florida sponsor you.
Second, you can obtain an employment visa. You would have to obtain a job in the US, have the employer file with the Department of Labor, and then you would be granted the visa. The process is more complicated and there's a great deal of paperwork, but this is essentially the procedure.
Third, you could get a student visa by applying to and being accepted at an American university.
Florida rarely snows. If you want warm summers with snowy winters, New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont or Maine) or the mid-Atlantic states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania) would be your best bet. New Hampshire has fairly low taxes compared to most of the other east coast states. If you like rural scenery, you'll like New Hampshire. Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut are more densely populated.
Americans are generally friendly and welcoming toward the English. You won't have any problems here. The US doesn't have any sort of grudge toward England and you wouldn't be held responsible, anyway. If anything, people here will probably find your accent charming.
I'll link you to the visa website so you can read more about what you need to do to immigrate here. Good luck to you!
You just described South Carolina. Lots of fields and ranches, it is on the atlantic ocean, East coast, There are only 3 really big cities (myrtle beach, greenville, columbia), mid-90s in the summer and lower 30s in the winter (Fahrenheit). Yeah I think this sounds perfect for you
o and I have no problem with english people! In fact I love the accent haha

How many people think the TEA party rallies should be stopped?
-But think gay pride parades should continue?
Any hypocrites here?WOW you are trying to criticize the the entire progressive agenda. They want those things that they don't like shut down . Things like Tea Party, FOX news, Republican party, National borders. Churches,(except Muslim), private schools, home schooling, private business, and anything else that conflicts with their ideas about how the government should run things.I think it's great!
I wasn't sure republicans remembered HOW to assemble in protest. You can tell they're still pretty new at this. They're making all the novice mistakes (assaulting people, bringing guns, threatening to assassinate heads of state) but you know they'll learn eventually.
Happy peaceful protesting!
gay pride parades are happy, right?
tea party rallies are all about unhappiness.
pretty different to me.
not that I care if either stop (both are completely legal and all), just pointing out how un-hypocritical it would be.
I wouldn't dream of keeping people from forming Tea Parties. Right to assembly is in the constitution.
Signed, A Liberal.
I am all for supporting the right to freedom of public assembly. As long as they aren't riding pink horses with ribbons.
I think the tea party can rally away, no skin off my nose.
They shouldn't be stopped. I've only heard people jokingly say that they should.
Only the voices in your head.
anywho who does is an idiot, stupid ppl have the right to assemble too

Is The Tea Party the most divisive thing to happen in America since The Civil war ?
-NO.
Since the Big Bang!!!NO.
Since the Big Bang!!!No. That honor goes to President Barack Hussein Obama.
Remember back in 2003-2005, (when there were the Congressional debates about America's involvement in Iraq) a certain New York Senator named Hillary Clinton, along with many liberal Democrats said it was patriotic to question the leadership of this nation when you disagreed with it. So does that only apply when Republicans are in charge?
Why are the rules different when Democrats run the country? Could it be another example of liberal hypocrisy?
No, the Tea Party has an ally, the Blue Dog democrats.
The division is between people who want reasonable spending, and recognize that we can make our obligations if we don't go hog-wild with spending, and those that just want to spend and spend and spend.
No it isn't not even close. Just because we want the government to live within a budget just like we do now we are divisive. So glad to be called something different for a change it is refreshing.
Most Americans support the Tea Party, so I don't know how they can be divisive, unless you're using liberal math, in which anything is possible.
The Tea Party (American people) are giving the Progressive take over of America a headache when they thought it be so easy. Not going quite as planned, huh?
No, but you're close.
The Bush-Cheney cabal was the most divisive thing to happen in American since the Civil War.
Yes, i doubt they know the basics of politics, there just a bunch of politicly ignorant racist people that want something to b*tch at.
No that would be Barack Hussein Obama. The Tea Party is the symptom and not the cause.
No. That would be our current president and the tragedy is, he does it deliberately - just like Lincoln.
No, that would be the government spending more money than it takes in.
Yes, they are destroying consumer confidence everyday.
Nope.
Not even kind of. Don't be such a drama queen.
yes
Well they are rebelling against the establishment that has driven this country into the poor house.
No it is the best
No, that would be Hussein Obama, the failed anti American president
It's the pity party.
Poor folks have to pay taxes and they don't want to. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Yes but even worse

If George Bush II, Dick Cheney, & John Ashcroft Authorized A Plan To Sell Guns To The Mexican Drug Cartel...?
-...to keep the war on the border sizzling and to cause the death of an American border patrol agent (in the spirit of distraction) would that entire power structure be more than vulnerable to being taken down by the judicial process ?....Google "Obama`s fast and furious" for another angle. Obama and friends are enjoying manufacturing today`s news.It is so amazing how the media didn't even cover it.
Eric Holder and Obama should be fired over this. But for some reasons we hear silence.
Why do these corrupt people always get a pass?It would NOT be in keeping with today's economic "crisis" which was ALMOST manageable during the Bush years. Bush tried to appease the left with his Medicare Part D, but when coupled with having to answer for Clinton's failures regarding the cease fire agreements that ended Desert Storm AND having to deal with Clinton's failures regarding border security which allowed an entire team of terrorists to enter and train here, what you end up with is higher overhead than you have income. Introduce Pelosi/Reid and their record setting 100 days of legislation with no visible means to support all of their programs and that overhead went exponentially out of sight. They had over three years to address the issues of deficit spending and "kicked the can down the road" every time. What was Rahm's mantra? "Never let a good crisis go to waste." It's all about distraction.
Maybe.
Of course, Obama, Biden and Holder did not authorize fast and furious.
But what if Holder continued a policy of denying the FBI the ability to use the Instant Check System to determine if terrorists have purchased guns? That would be John Ashcroft not allowing gun checks post 9/11.
Or if Obama had specifically authorized the guns used by terror suspects planning to "take out" Fort Dix? No, that would be Bush.
You are dead on right. Just look at the libs trying to blame W. for all of the miserably failing marxist-socialist moron's stupid policies to this day and you know that if they actually had some legitimate gripe on something like that, they would still be sniveling in the streets.
But since it is some hard left commies who have failed (yet again), the news is ignored by the lamestream media and nothing of significance to the lib supporting drones.
Hyopcrisy, thy name is democrat.
They would be charged with Treason. "Obama`s fast and furious" was a setup to make it appear the US is lax on gun trafficking.(We are NOT lax on gun trafficking)
Look up Hillary and the UN and the Small Arms Treaty.
My answer on your other question "The Greatest Generation`s" was deleted.
USE YOUR HEAD!
There is a reason Fox News and right-wing media are not reporting the finding of the hearings/investigation of Operation Fast and Furious. That is because the investigation showed Obama had nothing to do with it.
I know what you men, but GWB did not do that, BHO did. IF GWB would have done that, you would NEVER hear the end of it from the media...and rightly so. So where is the media on this one, they are covering for their Messiah, BHO
You're quite right. If that exact same scenario had played out under President Bush, it would lead every network newscast for days on end, and calls for firings and impeachment would be the order of the day.
They did him one better. They started a war over nothing, cost us a trillion, and got thousands of Americans killed.
The Democrats would have made sure the Administration didn't survice if it had happened on Bush's watch.
Where are those pesky Dims when you need them.
That program originated under those people you named. That program started back in 2005.
I'm just glad we have Fox News and don't have to rely on Soros driven Media Matters for the truth.
So much for a " nation of laws " ..

Why Do Some Dislike A Single Payer Method?
-In U.S. healthcare, many seem interested in a single payer method! However, many seem to dislike this method and don't believe its a good idea to have it! What's so bad about it that many disapprove it and what another option! The single most important reason is if government is the only source for something then we all are subject to what the government is giving. In the case of many private providers if we don't like what one offers or is doing we can choose another.1> Any time you add another middle man, the ultimate price to the end consumer is higher.
2> Human nature says something sacrificed for, worked for, or fought for, is appreciated and cared for, but something given to for "free", is none of the fore-mentioned.
Look at medicare / medicaid. It IS single payer. Efficient, streamlined, high quality : NOT. But only 1/2 of the overall health care equation in the US.
Where you been Anthony?
Inefficient, long lines, government decides what can cure and what cannot.
You can ask to Europeans or Canadians.
Do you really want put your health in the hands of a government that can't run the postal system right?
Single payer reduces competition. I would not like to see that. Europe can take their socialism and stick it up there "insert bad word here".
It is not really 'Single Payer".
I would not only be paying for mine but an increasing number of people who sit on their butt drawing Welfare.
Some lawmakers dislike the single payer option because Big Insurance companies don't want the competition.
Just look at the mess we have in Washington now & you want to turn over the health care for 300 million to those people? Thats insanity!
They know what happens when the free market is compromised. Also, knowledge of history.
Some people want to die a slow and painful death and not have health care.
Let those ones die.
Liberals can go to Europe if they like single payer system
insurace health care greeed

Going to MEPS tomorrow..?
-So tomorrow at 10:30 I'm going to MEPS and staying the night. Is the 1st day the ASVAB and paperwork and the 2nd day the physical and stuff? Also as much info on what I need to bring and what it's going to be like would help. Do I need my own food/money for food? And what do they test you for in the physical?
This is for the army if it makes a difference.you are going to need some sort of ID, also bring your bank information because they will set up your pay there, or when you get to the basic training reception battalion. As far as food they will feed you, you will also more then likely be staying at a hotel with many other new recruits because 99% of the time you do not leave until the next day. So I would bring money in case you want to buy things to snack on, bring a phone card as well so you can call love ones. As for as the medical exam, they will give a full exam, as well as have you "duck walk" you will get a eye exam, hearing exam, things like that. They will also perform a drug/alcohol test. The Branch in which you are going to will not make much of a difference. Also, how well you score on the ASVAB will determine what MOS/JOB you will be able to choose. You will be nervous because you are making your first step in a life changing process, but do not worry. You will be walked through the whole process with many others making their first steps as well. So good luck my friend! It really depends on the way your particular city gets things done. Here in Los Angeles, we are sent to a hotel and assigned a roommate, we are fed dinner and told to go to bed at 10:00 and wake up at 4:30-5 am, earlier if you want breakfast. My air force recruiter had us take the asvab 2 weeks before. The only branch I saw taking the asvab were the army but they did it the night of the hotel stay and then returned to the hotel. The next day was the physical, backround check, and swear in, it takes forever. After the physical we were fed a nasty Togo's sandwich. My reccomendation is to skip breakfast cause they will do blood work, drink a **** load of water so you pee on your first chance. Also bring a change of clothes, your diploma, SSN card, birthcertificate, your license all that good stuff but keep it close so no one steals it. It was wierd though cause no one ever asked me for those things but my recruiter told us to bring them so just make sure. Definetly bring clothes and toothbrush.
1st day is usually the asvab and 2nd day is usually the physical. They will provide the food, usually contract out to subway or something. The physical includes blood and urine testing as well as hearing and eyesight. They will also make you perform a bunch of weird exercises such as the duck walk. You should only bring what your recruiter tells you to bring and dress how they tell you to dress. You usually need to bring you social security card and birth certificate, but your recruiter should already have those. Most of everyone in there will be civilian but that does not mean that they cant or wont kick you out for being stupid, they will. Make sure to treat everyone like its a job interview which means yes sir/no sir, etc.
1st or 2nd day will depend on the center, but traditionally the paperwork and psych exams will be first.
All you need to bring is your paperwork, all your ID's, anything your recruiter said, etc.
Money for food? Yes
Money for the evening? Yes
MP3 or phone? Yes (FOR USE OUT OF CENTER)
For the physical, blood test, dental check up, standard "cough, eyes, throat" (And a "raise/lower" on your tip toe's for "Airborne qual.")
That's about it.
Hope it helps.
Sincerely,
policetac

A unbiased political news source?
-I'm starting to think one does not exist and i know there is int one on TV. biased news makes me sick republicans blaming democrats and vice versa like children. I'm only 16 and i feel that i am more mature than any member of the house or senate. OH and on a different subject if i refuse to vote for anyone who has ever "tweeted" is there anyone left to vote for? YOUR MOST LIKELY 50+ GROW UP!There is always bias in reporting the news, just depends on how much and what kind.
If you want to be free of party bias, try infowars.com or drudgereport.com...it's where the news agencies get the raw news to make their news. Try foreign news outlets. American and British media are completely spinned to make people dummies.
And no, NPR has some very liberal talk shows, there are some conservative ones too, but I wouldn't call that unbiased, just balanced bias. The only way to get the real news is to listen to multiple sources about the same story, just like a detective does with witnesses to a crime ;o)
When you listen, ask yourself this - who is best raising an issue, then interviewing professionals on that topic with differing points of view, asking exploratory questions but otherwise keeping their own mouths shut. That is journalism.
I challenge anyone here to listen to an hour of NPR and an hour of FOX with that experiment in mind.
I watch abc news with Diane Sawyer. She is really balanced. The channel as a whole is pretty moderate, but leans a little bit left because of people such as George Sephanopolous. He is a decent journalist, but you can kind of hear his views seeping through.
I hope this helped!
Try NPR -- really. And if you want to hear extended discussion of one issue or another, stream "To The Point" with Warren Olney from PRI. http://www.kcrw.com/people/news/programs鈥?/a>
Can't recommend To The Point enough. Everybody gets to talk without interruption.
No source can be completely unbiased because those who report the news let their personal opinions influence their reporting.
According to associatedcontent.com.......
http://www.politico.com/
...is the most balanced internet news site.
There are plenty, and none of them are "Fox news". The BBC is good although they are not American. They post a lot of what's considered *secrets* (stuff US news doesn't want you to know) here.
You'll find npr and pbs are what you're looking for.
Politifact.com
Its all i got. I dont know even if this is correct. Sad I know.
Fox News. Obama got sanctioned by Twitter for spamming--pathetic.

Navy boats internet access?
-My recruiter told me that on a navy boat you get high speed wifi internet the whole time because we have high tech military satellites providing the internet for you. I'm not sure if I actually believe this.... anybody like to put in their 2 cents?boats are submarines. they get pretty much zero interweb access period.
SHIPS are surface vessels. and no it is not hi speed and the satellites are there for the actual military equipment.. you know the radars and stuff.
and access to the web will be restricted.I can't speak for every ship, but I know my dad's ship (G W Bush) had internet. Granted, it was still in port, but still.
Depends on the ship and operation and location.
Sometime it may be disabled for operational security.
Why does it matter

Are Nancy Peolosi and Harry Reid involved in all these debt talks?
-I'm not very good with politicsYeah I saw them both talking about it (not together, but they each individually spoke to the press about it)Yes, they are. They are the Democratic leaders.
Nancy Peolosi, Harry Reid, and others are all in this
Nancy Peolosi, Harry Reid, and others are all in this
Do you they will get a deal done tonight and get the debt ceiling raised? or will they fail YET AGAIN!?

Why did Tea Partiers shoot 4 people at George Clinton's "Concert For Unity" in Ohio yesterday?
-Why does violence happen when you get groups of people like this together? The were tea partiers, werent they?
Cleveland 鈥? Several shots rang out from a handgun during a large fight near an outdoor concert venue in Cleveland, leaving four people wounded after a "Unity in the Park" festival featuring funk music artist George Clinton, police said Sunday.
Authorities said they were searching for a male suspect who pulled out a handgun and fired into a group of people Saturday night during the fight. No arrests were reported in the hours after the shooting, Police Sgt. Sammy Morris told The Associated Press.

Thurston, you need to work on your concept of Sarcasm.
Without any clue that it is sarcasm, it's not sarcasm. It comes under the title of "Trolling".
Glad to see you are not serious, but here is how to do it in the future.
Someone shot four people at George Clinton's "Concert for Unity" in Ohio, yesterday. Shall we assume they were Tea Party members like people always do?
It makes clear it is sarcasm. Sarcasm is only funny if it is clearly sarcasm. Unclear? Then you lost your audience.
It was not immediately clear how many people were involved in the fighting nor what prompted it, Morris said.
This is from the source YOU posted. Face it. You're a LIBBIE LIAR.
Just where in this article does it state that these people were members of the Tea Party? This tells me that they were not members of the Tea Party.
I didn't see any proof that Tea Party members were actually involved in the shooting.
Signed, A Liberal.
Just because a small subgroup of people did somethign doesnt mean the whole group is bad.
Im not a tea partier and I know this.
Another fact-based libnut.
Can you put that "I'm being sarcastic." in bold. I'm getting old here! Good one!
Right-Wing Christian Terrorism is on the rise.
and this would be a tea party member why?

Do you think Obama will get a cush advisory job at Goldman Sachs after January 2013?
-His friends will probably re-pay him for always sticking by them while he turned on America's youth, seniors, and middle-class workers.
Heck, he might as well switch parties then, to make it official.I'm sure Obama will be very well off financially for supporting his corporate overlords for all of these years.did you hear the latest news about Goldman Sachs giving less money to Obama than the Republicans because of the banking reform legislation that Obama helped pass? They don't like the new regulation, so they are giving money to Republicans instead. I know the far left is complaining about Obama not doing enough for the poor and the minorities, but the awful truth is that a Republican is going to oppress these folks instead of not helping them enough. So, the minorities and far left may stay home and pout, while the Republicans are energized and they will go to the polls and get what they want.
He will serve on boards and get lots of $ showing up to give a speech.
I think he will be able to make more $ that way that trying to go to work on a regular schedule.
Probably will have a new book or two on the market.
There are thousands of possibilities. I'd say Obama will start building his presidential library within ten years of leaving the White House. The least he will do is go on a world-wide lecture tour.
Probably...
There are always requests for a janitor...
I'm glad you're finally admitting that Bush and Obama are frighteningly similar.
I would say a job with the government of China.
Yeap
His children are already promise CEO positions
That or, GE. Or he will write another book full of nauseating drivel.
He isn't fit to be dog catcher.
I know he caved in, but don't leave the Dems just yet. The cons would like nothing better.
Carter is building homes with Habitat for Humanity . maybe he could do the yard work ?
At least there is something you and I agree on
Liberals can't see past his stupid O American flag logo as the broker for his Rich Liberal friends.
Jealousy sucks, eh.
Let's all feel sorry for you because you have no one doing that for you.
Poor you.

The Polls show if there were to be a default republicans would bare the full blunt of blame.Apparently, the adults have ousted those who were in denial about raising the debt ceiling. McConnell and Obama understand that not taking action would plunge our country into another Great Depression. Your question depends on the ability of the GOP leadership to educate their freshmen class about how compromise actually benefits regular Americans during a crisis (this disaster was of the tea party's own making). You better get the phone, reality is calling.
We just had a wave election that PROVED that America wants big spending cuts.
75% want a balanced budget.
66% wanted the excellent Cut, Cap, and Balanced bill that came from the GOP House.
Cite what polls are indicating that. So far the Conservatives have sent 2 Bills to the Senate and Libs refused to let them on the floor for a vote.
You are wrong on all counts. Liberals can delude themselves and each other, but conservatives know what it right...so to speak.

Trouble picking a job for Navy?
-I'm a fairly smart person. I usually do well on tests, so i'm guessing I would get a pretty high score on the ASVAB. But I'm having a little trouble selecting a job for the Navy. I prefer a desk job over a labor job. I do better mentally than physically. (I'm sort of clumsy, and not very athletic) And I know I'll probably be on a ship at some point, and I don't mind it. But I wouldn't like to spend my navy career on a ship for most of the time. What are some navy jobs that require the least amount of sea duty?I'd say that if you can get it that CT is a good choice they have some good sea billets and a lot of overseas billets. Also, OS could be a good choice, or maybe AC. My friend was a LN and now she is a lawyer. Most jobs have a set sea and shore rotation. Your classifier should be able to tell you the sea shore rotation of the jobs that you are looking at. I knew plenty of people that did not go to sea in a 4 year hitch, and others that never went to shore duty. You can always stay on sea duty if that is what you want. One of the main reasons people join the Navy is so they can be on a ship and see the world. Lots of Sailors see 5 or 6 countries per deployment. Almost everyone will get deployed on a ship.
You sound like an Air Force kind of guy. In the AF you will receive better technical training, earn college credits just for doing your job, higher quality of life (not sitting in a cramped ship, but on a nice base), and more women :)
Good luck.
the more physically demanding jobs like seabee, EOD, and the special warfare units are usually the only ones that dont do much sea duty or any at all
all of the least labor intensive jobs like logistics specialist and IT are all going to be high areas for sea duty
see if u wanna join navy u will mainly be doing sea duty that there role
go on website and they would narrow it done better then any1 on here would they got hundreds of jobs and u can narrow them down then talk to your recruiting Sergeant bout it he give best advise
"Sailors belong on ships, and ships belong at sea - land is just a navigation hazard."

What's wrong with this country?
-Sean Hannity complains that taxes are too high. Then he asks the rhetorical question: "how much should i pay in taxes, 50%, 60%?" The real problem is that some people make too much money. Why does the CEO of a corporation need to make $40 million a year? Would his quality of life be so impaired if he only made $5 million a year? Why does Hannity make millions per year? What does he do? What does he make? What wealth does he create? He talks for a living, and he complains that he pays to much taxes. What would Sean Hannity do, if he wasn't on the radio, wash dishes, collect garbage? They complain about taxes and still control 98% of the money. Whiny swine.Greed my friend...nothing you can do at the moment. The grey clouds must pass and the sun will shine again.

The list for what isn't wrong with this country would be miles shorter.
Well Zeb, you and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum. I believe that the government has been systematically ripping us off for hundreds of years. Roughly half the people vote republican, half democrat. I don't hate someone because they are rich. Rich people give us jobs. Even those that don't, spend money which is good for small business and the workers as well. And to tell you the truth, what a man does with his money, rich or poor, is none of my business. To me your logic is equivalent to hitting someone in the head with a hammer, because he's smarter than you.
Can we agree on this? How about the flat tax? I think that rich or poor, we should all pay the same percentage, for example, 15%.

Where do all the democrats come off with the idea of the richest Americans need to pay their fair share?
-i dislike the idea too. its sort of like communism from what i understand. i dont completly understand what communism is so i may be wrong but from what ive read in communism if u can do something whether its work or money you will do it to the best of your ability.
my question is why would they fight wars over communism and cause so many deaths if they are gonna turn around and use communist ideas and policies?i dislike the idea too. its sort of like communism from what i understand. i dont completly understand what communism is so i may be wrong but from what ive read in communism if u can do something whether its work or money you will do it to the best of your ability.
my question is why would they fight wars over communism and cause so many deaths if they are gonna turn around and use communist ideas and policies?Well, there are different types of liberalism
among that not being white trash and maintaining civil liberties is important
Yes, why should the rich pay a fair share of their hard stolen money.
Where else are you going to get the money? The rich have it all.
If you hear a big lie long enough you start to believe it. (Emotions)

How Do You Think Obama`s Celebration Of Himself/Fundraiser Will Go This Week? Has The Debt Ceiling Issue....?
-...helped him ? Nevermind the tens of thousands that have fleed him on Twitter...I still want to know if he will receive another peace prize. How many nations are we fighting now? Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia, and supposedly Syria (not confirmed)the debt ceiling has DEFINITELY helped Obama... it showed how irrational and out-of-their-minds the Tea Party Republicans in the House of Representatives is. Obama made sure people saw and understood what was going on, and they did... obviously you didnt.
Right, and Republican presidents never had a fundraiser while doing anything stupid.
He'll do fine. His zombie followers will just smile and whip out their check books.
You've heard of politics before, right?

Will we go Into default tuesday?
-Or will everything be fine and have no worries I shall tell you I get social security disability Insurance (SSDI) medicare, medicaid and food stamps and I'm seriously concerned that my check and benefits will be coming because democrats and republicans refuse to work together and compromise which Is bad my whole point will a deal be done by august 2nd or will I have to find other ways to survive remember this I need this to live we all do because everything will go crazy If something ain't done soon weigh in on your thoughts please.Remember those are items that are not supposed to be budget items. Failure to pay those items would be a violation of federal law. Every President since Johnson has been raiding the Social Security fund in an effort to make their budgets look better. Obama now is trying to blame Republicans for the deficit. Also remember that it is the executive department that determines the priority in paying the bills. No, we won't default, and no, everything won't be fine. What is going to happen is that the same federal employees that had their retirement savings raided are now going to not be paid at all. After cutting 40% of our budget out, and paying SS, Medicaire, and the interest on America's debts, in theory there will be enough money left (barely) to pay out all the important people, but in practice not paying federal employees will put more pressure on Congress to raise the debt ceiling. It's too good a political move for the Treasury and the President not to play it.
No. This whole thing is just another created "panic attack" developed by liberal Democrats to scare the American People, and then hopefully have something (that even though they created the mess) they can blame on Republicans.
Throughout United States history, the "Debt Ceiling" has never not been raised when this country got near its borrowing limit. I don't see anything different this time around.
But sometime down the road, those who we elect to run this country will have to say "No" to raising it, and we are going to have to start being more fiscally responsible than we are now. This goes for both parties.
(Every President since LBJ has raised the debt ceiling, and every time, the opposition party in Congress has fought it. Bush wanted it raised, and one of the strongest opponents to raising it was Senator Barack Obama, saying it would put unnecessary burdens on future generations. Now, President Barack Obama wants to raise it.)
At this point I hope so!! The problem with that is a lot of people who put in their time (working) or were unable to do so due to something beyond their control (disabled) are going to get hurt!!
Those collecting a welfare check, food stamps (other than those above) are taking out of the mouths of those who deserve their checks!! A lot of money is being lost on ILLEGALS also!!
If the debt limit is not raised, we will not go into default.
What it essentially is, is that we as a country are trying to OK further debt incurrance. In effect we are trying to get a higher credit line even though we barely have the money to pay for the bills we have now, does that make sense? Why bring on new debt when we are broke and have a hard time paying our bills now?
Your dems are to blame for there not being an agreement though, they have pledged to vote down ANY plans put forth by the repubs.
These are liberal scare tactics, why don't you ask Reid, and Pelosi why social security and military pay would be jeopardized but none of their pay or benefits would be affected.
We'll be fine. The real default will come when we can no longer pay for SS and Medicare while also operating the rest of the federal government.
I hope so but they will not let it happen. They will delay the inevitable for as long as they can even if it means making it worse when it finally does happen.
allow me to help,,,,,,,,,default,,,,,,,no debt increase without a balanced budget.....see crazy is a good thing as gets people thinking........dr.
I doubt we'll actually default, but maybe I'm naive. Someone has to cave in. This whole thing is just embarrassing.
YES
I hacked into Mconnells plan to trigger the default in 6 months
It probably will.
We went into default when OBAMA was elected
YES
I can Default on america in 6 months with my plan
No default, but still in financial mess.
No simple solution but down size the debt
No, but the market may drop a bit. Glad I bailed long ago.
I sure hope not.

How does/has being in the military affect(ed) your family life?
-It seems like the military is very lonely if your single. If you are not single, it seems like it is very difficult to have a family, or to do anything family oriented. Those facts make me question weather or not the military is something I want to do.have to admit it is hard. But honestly there are many ways to communicate with your family and friends (skype, cell phones, facebook, ect.) Also the military seems to have programs to help in dealing with these types of issues. When daughter was overseas they had support groups ect to help families deal with being apart.
I always looked at it this way with my daughter, being away at college you are separated from your family. The benefits for being in the Army is so many; that it seems to out weigh the down sides. You get personal leave time every year to visit with your family, once you are at your placement it is like working a normal job and you get to have passes and such to socialize with people. all sorts of stuff.
for my family and daughter it was the best choice. And she still is not giving up on finding a really nice man in the military to be with .. :)
good luck on your decison, please don't make it lightly. Life is full of surprises, you never know where you might end up..
have a great dayit makes you see your family 75 percent less than you used to. Therefore it makes family life shitty.
Im. Wiith a marine. I've been with him his whole ffoour years oof his contract its hard at times but youur family will be so proud of youu if iits something you really want to do. It is difficult but not impossible.
I have no comment,, I did my job in the military,, saved many lives, but seen my share of
death,, war is hell.
have a good day

What does it take to make michelle obama proud of America?
-A staff to straighten her hair, tons of clothes, and lavish vacations for her and her family, all on taxpayer money.A staff to straighten her hair, tons of clothes, and lavish vacations for her and her family, all on taxpayer money.$$$$ or Power.

Should the compulsory education laws be abolished?
-The first compulsory school attendance law was passed in Massachusetts in 1852 and by 1918 every state in the Union had such a law. Yet the fact is that these laws have merely increased the amount of time children spend in school, not the amount of learning or knowledge they acquire.
These laws not only violate the parents unalienable right to determine how their children are to be educated, but they violate the 13th Amendment which prohibits involuntary servitude. No child should be forced to serve the interests of the education establishment. No child should be forced to undergo brain washing and indoctrination by a self serving monopoly of facilitators and change agents.
What do you think about the compulsory school attendance laws? Do you think we should keep them or get rid of them? Do you think they violate the 13th Amendment? They should be modified. Our schools are an abject failure by any measure but it gives the emotionally driven types something to hold onto. No, they do not violate the 13th Amendment because being in school in no way equates to servitude.
Also, your argument is just the same far right garbage that precedes a call for eliminating public education and child labor laws. We already know exactly where you're going with this and no - I do not agree that 9 and 10 year old children should be working in factories for $1.75 an hour instead of going to school. I will not agree with people like you who want to turn this country into a third world nation because labor costs are rising in China.
Of course it shouldn't be abolished. The last thing America needs is more uneducated idiots walking around.
I think you have a right to be illiterate, uneducated and unemployable.
Yes, high school is overrated.
