Bush tried to appease the left with his Medicare Part D, but when coupled with having to answer for Clinton's failures regarding the cease fire agreements that ended Desert Storm AND having to deal with Clinton's failures regarding border security which allowed an entire team of terrorists to enter and train here, what you end up with is higher overhead than you have income. Introduce Pelosi/Reid and their record setting 100 days of legislation with no visible means to support all of their programs and that overhead went exponentially out of sight. They had over three years to address the issues of deficit spending and "kicked the can down the road" every time. What was Rahm's mantra? "Never let a good crisis go to waste." It's all about distraction.
