Does a tattoo that says "Waffen" indicate a skinhead, white supremacist, etc.?

-While out an about yesterday I saw a guy with his young daughter, he had tattoos all over the place but one that stuck out said "Waffen". I believe the word waffen itself means simply "armed" or similar in German, but it's most associated with the Waffen SS.

Do you law enforcement types see this or have any opinion? It doesn't always indicate a skinhead, although it would be a pretty safe bet. Even if the person that got it wasn't a skinhead or didn't mean for it to be understood as the SS, it's a pretty poor choice of tattoo if that isn't what you think.

It's like getting a Swastika tattoo and then saying "I'm not a Nazi. It's a good luck symbol." Well yes, that's true, but the meanings of symbols change and it's not really appropriate or "good luck" anymore. The origins of the Waffen-SS can be traced back to the selection of a group of 120 SS men in March 1933 by Josef "Sepp" Dietrich to form the Sonderkommando Berlin.[7] By November 1933 the formation was 800 men strong, and at a remembrance ceremony in Munich for the tenth anniversary of the failed Munich Putsch the regiment swore allegiance to Hitler. The oath given: Pledging loyalty to him alone and Obedience unto death.[7] The formation was given the title Leibstandarte (Bodyguard Regiment) Adolf Hitler (LAH).[8] On 13 April 1934, by order of Himmler, the regiment became known as the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH).[8]
Lmao! Some people might aswell tattoo a schwartz sticker to there head ! Problem with tattoos is that even though people can change their opinions over time tattoos remain the same. I know a few guys with these types of tats from a misguided youth and they wear plasters over some areas due to shear embarrassment.

The saying 'try not to judge a book by it's cover' has never been so true or literal !
Not always. Maybe he has german roots he is proud of. I would assume though, since the Waffen SS was a Hitler creation, never legitimate military branch, and more of a secret police, yeah he probably has some skin head thing going on. Like someone else said, maybe it was a mistake from the past, he grew older and wiser, but he still has the marks of stupidity from youth.
I can trump that tattoo, I have the symbol of death on my arm

(i'm also a veteran of the 4th infantry and proud of it)

Literally it means "weapons".
Ask him. Geez, it amazes me how people will avoid talking to people about a question they might have.
