Debt limit/.budget bill question?

-Is it just me or does it sound to you like Reid is sitting on his bill until the very last second? I am beginning to think that he is sitting on a budget bill that he will try to pass at the very last second in an effort to not allow anyone time to read it before voting on it?



He led the Senate to vote down the GOP bill literally 2 hours after it was passed. With all the last second changes on it he had not had near enough time to read it before he blocked it.



Now he's trying to pass yet another major piece of legislation without our having time to read it, AND without giving the CBO time to check it out and see if the math actually adds up.



So I ask you, is it just me or do you think that Reis is trying to pull a fast one over on the American people again?



He lied big time about the math on the healthcare bill, is he doing it again?I have wondered if this is a real showdown or some dog and pony show on all sides. All news sources claim nobody knows what is going to happen, but I wonder.... Things of this level of significance don't happen by accident. In addition to our political representatives, consider the even more powerful Forces at work. Federal Reserve. International Monetary Fund and up the line all the way to the Dutch bankers who seem to run the show. There's all the huge Wall Street business interests. And OIL, what about the oil, which must be traded in "dollars"? That beings in International Politics. Consider how the "dollar" and international debt, all interconnected, interacts with the Euro and the European Union.



Everything is connected to everything else. Example: Greek bonds are insured by AIG which now has the full backing of the American taxpayer. If Greece defaults, Uncle Sam pays AIG as necessary.



So I think this little dance between Boehner and Reid is just the tip of a very big iceberg.

And clearly We The People do not have enough information to even guess what's really going on.

Heck, this whole scene may be a plot to so mess up our currency (and economies worldwide) that everyone cries out for a World Currency and New World Order. We just don't know what the game really is.



And then there's the whole issue about what "money" really is...

That would be no. The CBO has *already* looked at Reid's bill, and determined that it would reduce deficits by $2.2 trillion.



The Senate had already read the Boehner bill even before the House vote. It was only about 50 pages (which equals about 30 pages of regular typed documents).
His Bill has been available for more than a week. The fact that YOU didn't hear about it until just now doesn't change anything.
I'm all for a little subterfuge if that's what it takes to keep the House GOP from flushing our economy down the toilet.

I think you have it wrong. The budget bill originates in the House, which is under Republican control. The bill to raise the debt limit, John Boehner (Speaker of the House) had the option to bring the bill to the House floor for a vote any time. It was HIS decision to delay it until the last minute. I think that was a deliberate strategy to force the Senate to vote on it right away.



But once Boehner decided to go ahead and bring the bill up for a vote, he found that he didnt have enough Republican votes to pass the bill! So it took a little longer, and he had to make some concessions.



The Senate voted on the bill immediately! They knew what was in it, they didn't wait for the House to pass it before they read it. Harry Reid wasted no time, he brought it to a vote right away, and it was defeated. The senators knew what was in it!



This was not a surprise. Senators had said all along that this bill was not acceptable to them. Not just all the Democrats but a number of Republicans also. Boehner, in the House, KNEW the bill would be defeated in the Senate, and even if it managed to pass, Obama would veto it. This was actually part of the Republicans' strategy--to be able to say 'We wanted to balance the budget but the Democrats wouldn't cooperate.'



So you can disagree with Reid and Obama (lots of people do!) But you can't accuse them of strategic shenanigans, of posturing and promising things they had no intention of delivering. That accusation goes to the Republicans in this particular case.
No. And even if he is, so what?



The fact is the GOP are out to lunch and most Americans agree (See the link below for the facts re taxation in the US (3rd lowest in OECD countries, lowest level in 50 years). The Dems would like to include tax reform in the pot with expenditure reductions, but know there is no chance with the GOP in the majority in the House. At the moment the GOP are fighting to make sure a minimal solution is passed so Obama has to fight this battle all over again in 2012. The Dems are trying to ensure a longer term solution. Neither are holding out for what most Americnas and most economists feel is required ... a balanced long term strategy based on both expenditure reduction and revenue increase.



The bottom line is Americans are going to savage Congress (in particular the GOP) in the next election ... particularly if the the debt ceiling doesn't get raised by Tuesday.
You can bet on it Harry Reid IS THE PROBLEM, along with Mr Obama in the facts of obstruction of any and all legislation; he has announced via twitter that the instant the new legislation passes the house and arrives in the senate it will be promptly defeated without any debate.



Indeed, Reid is a perfect and glaring example of the main reasons of what is wrong, so very wrong with the nation in regards to the leadership of DC, and the old and entrenched guard of DC as well. The paradigms have changed, and they are running scared now.



Watch for the scorched earth play soon, the end game for the future of the nation is in play; we will either see the restoration continue in the land, or pass into the nightmares of a socialist state.
