-I asked the cop if it would be on my record, he said no. He gave me a warning and made me sign a paper. I'm gonna tell my recruiter about this, but will it dq or hinder my chances? No it won't hinder you at all. You can tell your recruiter if you wish but it won't show up. Warnings are only registered by each individual police officer. That way if they catch you again and see they've given you three warnings they'll ticket you.
But either way I would tell your recruiter. Because if you are trying to get a security clearance they might find out either way.
But whether they find out or not won't change your chances. Even if you are trying to get a security clearance. Even if it's a top secret clearance. Traffic tickets don't affect your chances unless you have too many of them.If you are in the middle of your recruiting process (i.e. have already signed your contract) your recruiter will only fill out a form and you'll be good. If it's before you signed your contract they can just list i.
I know this because I needed a security clearance and I got a ticket after I had already signed my contract. I just had to bring in a copy of my ticket and the paid receipt and they put that in my file and filled out a form and I was good.
Don't worry about it. Just tell your recruiter and you'll be good.it wont hinder you at all. it is up to you weather or not you tell the recruiter. he may give you a litte lecture on safe driving.
my daughter has one wreackless driving for going 91 in a 70. it was reduced and she paid all of fines before going to MEPS. she still has to do the driver improvment course. her MOS requires she have a valid DL and it has not hindered her at all. just gave the recuiter more paper work..
don't worry and be safe hun..
thank you for your service. and enjoy your time there..
A warning is just a warning there is no real record of you breaking the law otherwise there would be bigger consequences.
With the military they are looking for more serious crimes. GBH, ABH burglary theft etc etc.
I passed all my recruitment tests so far and I once got cautioned by police.
If it was just a speeding warning or something than I don't think it would matter... my brother is in the Marines and has gotten tickets before enlisting and stuff. His friend however got a ticket days before going active duty (shipping off to Afghanistan) and he had to do an online driving school class to ensure his license wasn't taken away. But that is because his job in the military is driving. So I don't think it would make any difference, but check with the recruiter to be sure.
As long as you didn't get a ticket/fine you will be fine. A warning is just a warning. Don't worry about it.
No you dont even need to tell him, but it will show honesty, and he will have respect for you.
