Why would anyone raise the debt ceiling without first balancing the budget?

-Isn't this basic economics?They would have to be a democrat or not know how to do simple math.No, it isn't basic economics.



If it were, we wouldn't have had every President but one sign the debt ceiling increases presented to them.



Ronald Reagan had 18! George W. Bush signed 7. Obama has already signed 3.



What it IS is perfectly normal steps to protect the US credit rating.
