What is the difference between having two right wing parties and two communist parties?

-Since the so called Democrats in the US are further to the right than any right wing party in any other industrialized nation we have two right wing parties.



Now how is this any different than people living in a society with two communist parties battling for the people's vote?Interesting question Gnosisquest, the answer is that there is no difference since both right wing and communist parties don't listen to their citizens. In the US most people want a government that is effecient with providing services like soc. sec, medicare/caid, and education. Instead what we get is a government that either what to eliminate them or inefficiently throw money at them.What are you talking about?



I live in Canada and I'd say the Democrats are centre-right and have a lot in common with our Conservative party. We also have a Liberal party (centrist) and the NDP (centre-left).



There are plenty of mainstream parties that are further to the right of Democrats, and a couple even further to the right of the Republicans. Hungary is an example. The Hungarian parliament is dominated by real fascists (seriously!). Austria also has a major fascist party.

A month ago I might have argued with you. Now, having seen how willing the Democrats are to bargain away the last of our paltry social safety-net, I agree with you.
