Obama - why is it that with his last three speeches, he keeps talking about SS and retirement people not ..?

-receiving benefits if there is no decision re debt ceiling?

He's repeated this statement Three times in the last week.

Is Obama democrat or republican?In case you did not know it - Congress was flooded with email and phone calls from people like me.



We were notified by organizations we support to contact our Congressmen and representatives and I have done so each day last week. I have gotten responses from everyone I contacted including Obama.



There are millions of baby boomers like me affected by the governments actions/decisions and we are a force to deal with. They know our votes count and we vote.



Obama has to address the millions who are concerned and he has to do it several times for it to be sincere - he's doing the right thing.Obama is a very conservative democrat.



He's talking about that stuff because the republicans want to ruin social security and medicare. They want to privatize SS and make it harder to get, rather than doing the rational thing of raising or eliminating the cap on SS taxes. They also want to increase the retirement age, but the problem with that is if people aren't retiring, those jobs aren't opening up.



And for medicare, the republicans want to instead of providing healthcare, give seniors a voucher for 15,000 to buy health insurance. A senior can not get health insurance for 15,000 a year. And most of them won't be able to get insurance at any amount.



The republicans are going after seniors, but they claim it's okay because it won't take effect for Social Security except for people under 50, as they get older. So they are screwing over seniors by taking away health care for them. (Talk about your death panels) and they want to screw over younger people by making it more and more difficult to get social security. And given that employers love to force seniors out of their jobs, we will have a lost older population who can't get a job and can't retire. So they will be on the streets.



Obama has been giving away the farm trying to get a compromise on the debt ceiling, but the republicans are not willing to compromise at all.



If nothing is done, not only our economy, but the world economy will be trashed.
Obama is discussing Social Security because it's the only thing that Republicans care about. Talking about people receiving food stamps, WIC or HEAP is wasting breath because the majority of Republicans are Social Darwinists who would be fine with people who receive benefits from those programs starving to death or freezing to death in winter.
Because he is trying to scare the old people into becoming mindless Obama-followers.



We have the money to pay our debt payments AND every social security check. But Obama and Tim Geitner will decide who gets paid if we don't get a deal thru congress.



So if anyone doesn't get a SS check...they can blame Obama personally
It seems that the Democratic Party leadership honestly believes that the American people are either stupid or they are gullible beyond belief. When the truth would be better told than a lie, these nincompoops lie like there is no tomorrow. Why?

So, Obama appointed a deficit commission to make recommendations about controlling America's skyrocketing debt. "I'm confident," the president might have said, "that they will solve all our problems!
Obama is concerned that the government may not have enough money to pay SS benefits. What he is trying to do is alert the American people to the fact that the Tea Party is willing t let all of our senior citizens -- maybe YOUR grandparents -- go hungry just to push their poitical ideology.
Democrat, Republican, same difference. His answer is to fix debt is that we need to create debt. And as long as we are talking about that, we aren't talking about how our Nobel peace prize winning president is bombing the civilians of Libya.
It is a way to push the right into being reasonable.

Having old people that vote for them is a good way of doing that.
it must be a sense of guilt cause he knows by letting harry ried do this and not compromise he is compromising all the seniors in the land thats fifty billion voters by the way.
Obama is a FEAR MONGER.
Obama the idiot is in campaign mode. His only goal for now until Nov.2012 is to raise money.
