Americans, how do you view this Canadian's view of your current political "crisis"?

-You folks down there really need to get your sh!+ together. Particularly this "Tea Party" who are dividing the Republican party and not permitting a proper negotiation to solve this "debt ceiling" problem; which is a fabricated crisis. If they are all consumed with "economic responsibility", then they will realize how much this is impacting not only the entire global economy, but also the American economy with Friday's stock market decline. There are many more economic ramifications to come for the American people as well as for the entire global economy--this is politics--nothing more.

As for those of you who say that as a Canadian, an outsider, that I should have nothing to say about what is transpiring inside your country--well, when your nonsense starts impacting the whole world, then yeah, the rest of the global community has something to say about it. Americans need to start realizing that everything isn't about them and need to start working together with the rest of the world for the betterment of the global community--not just focusing on themselves--which is what they have been doing and which is a big part of why they are in the situation they are in. COLLABORATION--try it--both inside your country and with the global community. You are embarrassing yourselves and furthering angering and alienating the rest of the world. TIME TO CHANGE YOUR APPROACH!!I would say I'm frustrated and appalled by the attention our media pays to this and the 'Tea Party' movement, and am in agreement with a lot of your view in principle, except that it turns very condescending.

Whatever makes you think "we Americans" need to realize we're not the center of the world? There are nearly 310 million of us, give or take, a good third of whom are university educated, many of whom realize the US is a player amongst a community of nations, our economic troubles are interlinked with those around the globe. Did you forget that a majority of voters rallied in support of candidate Obama to elect him President Obama when he was saying just the same thing? There are two very contradictory and diametrically opposed approaches toward governance in our country and this internal fight we're waging over the size of the US debt is ill-timed and unnecessary. You're looking at political gridlock, and since we don't have a parliamentary system where the governing side can pass all the legislation it likes so long that it maintains a governing majority, most things become overly politicized and little progress is made.

We're as desperate to see the US a mature nation working with the global community as you are. Unfortunately we may not go anywhere without a seismic electoral shift in a little over a year from now.As a half-Canadian, I can say that you're half-right. The TEA Party is necessary. I agree with them on principle. You might not like their representatives but it's what we/they have for now. It will improve and I'm glad to see the Canadian Conservative Party are almost living up to expectations.
Change our approach to what? Make a constructive suggestion, ok? Continue the spending binge and tax the rich or cut spending? I don't know which is preferable in the end, but I vote for the latter. I am gathering you are supportive of the former. Tell us why you want us to continue in the spending binge. Won't that also have negative effects on the world economy?
Tea Party is not to blame for overspending...Why cant you Blame Dingle Barry Obama....or will that affect your paycheck from the Obama campaign....Bamma Bloggers
I agree with what you are saying, but I don't think you are going to change anything. Tea Party nutjobs only listen to other Tea Party nutjobs, and they all regurgitate the same talking points that Rush Limbaugh and his copycats have brainwashed them with.
You first need to understand that they don't teach about Canada in the USA...they don't care about the rest of the world. Although, there are some very nice, caring folks in the USA- very nice.

So, yes, it's time for a change.
I pretty much agree with you. Both parties need to stop acting like spoiled brats positioning themselves for the next election, start co-operating and working together.

Get this thing DONE.
"TIME TO CHANGE YOUR APPROACH" is what we the people are currently working on doing by changing the way that government wastes our tax dollars.

God bless America and The Tea Party Patriots.
Hey fellow Canadian.

I agree. Although if the Republican party had the guts, they would toss out the Tea Party.
whats to debate???

piss on the world,,,our eurodemocrats have run up more debt (3 x) in 3 years than bush in 8

you are a you nighted nations pan world multiculchural whycantwejesallgitalong
With no importance. Now run home little sister mother is calling for you.
As with most americans, why would we care what some foreigner thinks about the US .
With little interest
Hey,,,don't tell us, tell the politicians, we know this, they're the ones with their heads up their a$$es
Frankly, my dear....
Everyone needs to STOP being so reliant on other Nations. If indeed we DID focus more on ourselves, rather than the 'global community' we would not be in this mess, or at least not to this degree. Stop trying to mold America to all of YOUR views and let us, the Americans, mold it to how WE want it and to how it will effect US.

Seems as though you have it completely backwards, and this is WHY we keep ending up in this mess!

* Um yes, hence the reason I addressed us being so meshed with other nations, and other nations being RELIANT ON US. It isn't America's fault other nations can't stand on their own two flippin' feet! And now we are following in their footsteps, buying products overseas and hardly exporting any of our own. Letting other Nations (our competitor no less) buy up our debt was just plain STUPID.

WE WERE THE BEST AND THE GREATEST, beacuse we were dependent on ourselves! We ran sh*t because we had the least Federal control, our states had power, we had the power, we had the products, we had the businesses, we had the entrepreneurs. We followed in the European footsteps and THIS is what happened. And newsflash for you sweetpea, the majority of Americans DON'T WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS GLOBAL BS. America first!!

You're P*SSED OFF BECAUSE THE AMERICAN TIT IS DRYING UP, and y'all can't handle it. Just goes to show we did run sh*t. And now you're in a panic.
we have been infected by the TEA party disease....but we will cure ourselves from it soon enough
My view aboot your view of our financial problems is mind your own damn business in your own damn country. Eh?
